CNN —Few media figures in the last 27 years have had a larger and more profound effect on American political and media life than Rupert Murdoch. Ailes, who helped Richard Nixon get elected president in 1968, specialized in the political use of media. The so-called arms are the longer, feathery-like parts of the Antarctic strawberry feather star shown in the image. It belongs under the class of Crinoidea, which includes starfish, sea urchins, sand dollars, and sea cucumbers, and is a type of feather star — hence the less formal "Antarctic feather star" name. The Antarctic strawberry feather star stands out in particular due to the number of "arms" it has. "So we went from one species with 20 arms to now eight species — six with 20 arms and two with 10 arms under the name Promachocrinus," Rouse said. According to the paper, the Antarctic strawberry feather star was found somewhere between 215 feet to about 3,840 feet below the surface.

The private-equity giant made a bumped-up $2 billion offer for valve-maker Circor International (CIR.N) on Thursday that tops an offer from a rival. KKR broke the mold by offering sweeteners other than money – but in the end, it threw in more cash too. Circor’s board says KKR’s offer is more valuable because it can close more quickly. KKR knows that money isn’t the only thing that talks, but it still talks pretty loudly.
